a gente geralmente fantasia como seriam nossos ídolos, na sua vida cotidiana, sem a versão editada que se tem apenas pelas entrevistas, pelos twitters, pelas notícias e pelas próprias músicas, claro. ano passado a emily esteve em buenos aires pra descansar (por que eu não estive lá em 2008? oh my, que desperdício a viagem de 2007) e pra escrever o novo disco que saiu esse ano. e ela gravou esse vídeo, provavelmente the deepest cinco minutos de entrevista que eu já vi.
“The songs that I wrote here were the simplest and clearest writing that I have ever done, I think, in my life. I just felt like I didn’t want to write that script again for myself, again for like how complex things can be. It was like I took it as complex as I could. My life sucked. I was very unhappy with that place. So I felt, really, that the music I was going to write for this next record, which will dictate the next whole chapter of my life, needed to be based in simplicity and, um, just be really genuine.
